Our Team
Randy bishop
Randy Bishop played baseball through the collegiate level before spending the following decades immersed in the game as a coach, advisor, and advocate. He currently serves as an assistant coach at Marin Catholic High School, where he has built a reputation as a trusted mentor for young athletes navigating the path from high school to college baseball.
As a father, Randy has experienced four MLB Player Drafts firsthand and understands the complexities of the college recruiting process, along with the many ups and downs the sport can bring. He co-founded PCA with a shared mission: to provide student-athletes with honest guidance and personalized attention that can make a meaningful difference in their recruiting journey.
Founderjesse foppert
Jesse Foppert grew up in San Rafael, California, where he attended San Rafael High School before continuing his career at the University of San Francisco. He was selected in the second round (74th overall) of the 2001 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants and quickly emerged as one of the game’s most electrifying pitching prospects.
In 2002, he led all Giants minor leaguers with 183 strikeouts, earned the organization’s Minor League Player of the Year honors, and was ranked the No. 5 overall prospect in baseball by Baseball America, as well as the top pitching prospect entering 2003. He made his MLB debut with the Giants that same year and went on to play three seasons in the major leagues.
Following his professional career, Jesse transitioned into coaching and now serves as the Head Baseball Coach at Marin Catholic High School. His deep Bay Area roots, firsthand experience reaching the highest level of the game, and daily commitment to developing young athletes make him an ideal leader for PCA’s mission.
ConsultantBraden bishop
Braden Bishop was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of the University of Washington, where he stood out as a center fielder and one of the Pac-12’s top baserunners. He went on to spend eight years in professional baseball, earning time in the major leagues with the Mariners.
His MLB debut came in one of baseball’s most memorable moments—entering as a defensive replacement for Ichiro Suzuki during the Seattle icon’s final career game.
Following his playing career, Braden became a certified MLBPA player agent and amateur draft recruiting representative at Boras Corporation, one of the most prestigious agencies in sports. This experience has given him a rare dual perspective as both a former player and a professional talent evaluator.
He now brings that insight directly to PCA families. Between his playing and advisory experience, there is little he hasn’t encountered in the game.
ConsultantOur Process
Consultation Call
We start with a straightforward conversation. We'll get to know the student-athlete, their goals, and their current profile — and be honest about whether PCA is a good fit before anything is signed.
We evaluate the complete picture. GPA, coursework, athletic performance, and development trajectory so we can build a recruiting strategy grounded in reality, not wishful thinking.
Academic & Athletic Assessment
We work with the family to build a realistic, targeted college list. Programs where the athlete can get in, play, and thrive. Then we design a custom exposure plan so the right coaches have a reason to pay attention.
Build Your List & Exposure Strategy
We communicate directly with coaches at every division level on the athlete's behalf, managing outreach and building relationships with the right programs. Alongside recruiting, athletes get direct access to elite MLB mental/physical skill coaching.
Coach Outreach & Development
We don't stop at signing day. Our support runs from inception through the athlete's sophomore year of college, navigating the transition, roster dynamics, and everything that comes next.

This is a one-on-one specialized strength and conditioning program that focuses on enhancing explosive power, agility, flexibility, and endurance while minimizing injury risks. Will include core strength, rotational power, shoulder stability, and lower body strength. The program will be tailored to address the specific physical demands and movement patterns to baseball, aiming to optimize player performance and longevity.
A MPA is to determine the athlete’s individual motor profile, whether on the mound or at the plate. This one-of-a-kind assessment is conducted by a certified expert in the field. Data used to locate the deficiencies does not have the capability to accurately identify an individual’s motor preference. Every player should be training to find their own optimal balance and coordination before worrying about any other metrics. A Motor Preference Assessment will help drive that type of new training.
The baseball recruiting process can be a grind. Between camps, showcases, travel ball and training programs it can be hard to decide on the best use of time, energy and money. PCA helped our family develop a plan to use our resources effectively and efficiently while offering honest feedback and solid advice. PCA was instrumental in helping our son in his recruitment process and we are looking forward to watching him play at the next level. Thank you Randy!

What People Are Saying
Throughout this process, we came to truly value Randy’s relationships with collegiate coaches and programs nationwide, but even more meaningful was his honesty and the way he consistently showed up for our family. He was always willing to tell us the truth—even when it wasn’t easy to deliver or hear—and that guidance was invaluable as we navigated the increasingly complex college recruiting landscape.
What stood out most, however, was how much he genuinely cares about the student-athletes with whom he works. Randy brings real passion and heart to the process—it never felt transactional. He is deeply invested in helping each athlete find not just a place to play, but the right fit for who they are beyond baseball.

My son, Max Matthews, has devoted himself to the game of baseball since he was four years old. As a solo single parent for most of his life, I watched his passion develop his character, resilience, work ethic and friendships. All he ever wanted was to play baseball. As we approached the college recruiting process, I felt overwhelmed, confused, and manipulated by spam emails promising the best outcome for my child. Then, before his junior year baseball season, Max introduced me to Randy Bishop.
Randy researched Max as both a player and a student, getting to know his strengths and weaknesses as well as his long term goals for college and career. Randy made no promises, and held Max accountable for doing the work to achieve his goals for baseball and beyond.
Randy and Max communicated regularly, discussing schools through the lens of coaching and education. Randy has a vast knowledge of the recruiting landscape. With his strong relationships with coaches and schools, Randy guided Max toward showcases and tournaments, always holding Max accountable for his efforts on and off the field.
We couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome of this collaboration. In the Fall of 2026, Max will be a proud Freshman at The University of Puget Sound, playing for a coach he deeply respects and trusts at a school that supports his long-term educational and career goals. We received a strong Financial Aid/Scholarship package that makes a private college education possible for our family.
Randy Bishop was a mentor, guide, and ally during this pivotal initiation for my young adult son. For this I owe a debt of gratitude. Randy won't brag about himself, but don't be fooled by his humility. He is a truly special individual and your family would be lucky to receive his support.
In respect and gratitude,
— Tedra Matthews
